This is the main path which leads through beautiful woodlands from Kippford to Rockcliffe, we always used to walk it at least once a day. It’s not quite as we remember it, better surface, direction posts, but really lovely. We both liked these mossy boulders under the oak trees very much, like a Zen Garden.
We climbed to the top of the Mote of Mark, (see extra) an Iron Age fort beside the path & enjoyed the view despite the rain starting.... it drizzled the rest of the day, never mind, we enjoyed the walk anyway.
There’s quite a few folk around during the day, many dog walkers, at night everyone disappears.
I have a good book!
