A beginning

A beginning

A beginning stirred
from a place she had thought
forgotten,
lost even.

A tear formed in her eye
and gently fell down her right cheek.
‘I had forgotten who I was again,’
she scolded herself.
The air waited for her to breathe.

Gently a swallow flew across her eye line.
She saw the fresh morning dew
and the fire of a morning sun
casting long dark shadows across the meadow.

‘Come on,’ she said.
