A Race To The End

(Stay-cation back blip #1of 7)

I arrived a little late to my casita at the Santa Rita Lodge in Madera Canyon for my first night of my stay-cation because I was moving a little gingerly.  I decided to take half of the food, water, charcoal and clothes to cut down on how much weight I could carry.  It would mean driving home on Wednesday for the other half. I managed to get just a few shots off before I had to ice my side and rest for the night.  The prominent hummingbird is a female black-chinned and the one in the background is a male rufous.  I don't get many males so I was happy to get even a blurry one in the shot.  It was a race to the feeder. If I recall correctly, the rufous won.  They're mean little suckers.
