Memories of student days

Paula's Blip from yesterday set me on a mission! She and I attended the same college back in the day although not at the same time. On seeing her blip I pulled out a mighty tome from the bookshelf. This was my French dictionary - thankfully the shorter version. I would have been pushed to carry the longer version. It is really heavy. It cost 50 shillings but was worth every penny. My dear Dad paid for it, bless him. I took it straight home and covered it in polythene which has lasted for over 50 years. The Sellotape has yellowed - not surprising - but is still intact. I always loved language and I still treasure this book to this day. It was my trusty friend at college and helped out several of the other students in my group. I wish I were still as fluent as I was in those days. So much has been forgotten and I really should start learning again.
