A day in the life

Apples

Me and my former landlord has gathered around the mutual experience of letting go of the farm where I live. He sold the farm in February and left it to the new owners from the first of September. My contract runs out in May next year.

Both of us wants to benefit from the fruits of this year, namely the apples. These are the last of the fruit from the three trees on the grounds being picked and next week we deliver them, plus forty kilos more,  to a place that will make them into enough apple juice to last us through winter. After that, we will both have symbolically left the farm. Him, after having been born here 75 years ago, and me after having lived here for four years -and having worked together as colleagues at the same folk highschool since 2005.

What's next, we wonder?
