Reflections in the Flood Lock Basin, Wakefield

In a former life I brought some of Wakefield’s school children to study life along the canal.  Today I introduced Pixelfoto and husband Guy to the area.  (It’s changed a great deal since I was running the Urban Studies Centre in Wakefield.). We’d gone to see the Henry Moore & Bill Brant exhibition at The Hepworth Gallery, but I failed to check it would be open this afternoon - normally it would be.  We began at Cannon Hall (in the pouring rain) and visited the Walled garden and the IGPOTY exhibition before we moved inside to look at the Beautiful Barnsley Competition, which they enjoyed - seeing it through their eyes gave me a different perspective.  Lunch in The White Bull, which was very good and suitably socially distanced.
