A Day In The Life

Monday Holiday

It’s been one year since Maine celebrated Indigenous Peoples’ Day on the 2nd Monday of October rather than the traditional Columbus Day. Not all have followed the lead of 14 states, plus DC, but a Democrat in the White House would likely change that. Maine has 6 Native American tribes or 8,000 natives living here • We had planned to go apple picking today but an early morning frost, chilly temps and clouds kept us home. I made a vegan chicken noodle soup for dinner tonight, the first of the season! • One advantage of falling leaves is my camera captures more birds perched in the trees, like this sweet little female purple finch in the cherry tree this afternoon • Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian Blipper Friends!
