A Soaker of a Day!

It rained so hard this morning....and blustery! It felt like mid-winter! I was supposed to play in a golf tournament this morning, but there was absolutely no way. So I took advantage of the time this morning to get organized at my desk - it's been quite a while since I've sat and caught up with myself. So a quiet day all told.

But I did get out to the garden this afternoon when the rain stopped - it's looking decidedly more fall like after the rain last night and today. Starting tomorrow for several days the highs will be in the low 60'sF (16C) with overnight lows around 42 (5.5C)....brrr...coldest yet this year! I'm going to have to scurry to get the cold sensitive plants in a warm place. I'm hoping that my potting shed will retain some heat this time of year.

Today's blip is a lovely rose that I have mentioned before. A dear friend moved from Portland to northern CA a few years ago and left me with this rose. She swears that I gave it to her originally, although I have no memory of that! At any rate, it's bloomed beautifully all summer long and is still in bloom! I don't know the cultivar, but she's delightfully fragrant...and of course reminds me of Renee every time I see it!

Thanks so much for your very kind comments, stars and faves on yesterday's begonia blip!
