Life through the lens...

Shaggy and the conkers.

Could be the title of a children’s book.

Picking up conkers I stumbled upon the Shaggy Ink Caps, and together I thought it made a good blip photo.

I have put a collage up on extras.
All photos taken today at Naburn Locks, near York.
What a lovely day. Quite warm in the sunshine.
A few fishermen sat by the riverside, but didn’t see anyone catch anything.
The river was quite high with a lot of water coming over the weir.
Sat on the steps, the lock keepers cat was sunning itself.
Several students from Askham Bryan College were learning how to paddle their own canoes. Looked to be having fun.
The chestnut trees were beginning to change colour. Not as many conkers as last year, but came home with our pockets full. Just can’t resist picking some up.

We called at a nursery on the way home, and I got the cyclamen I wanted. Really good plants, and 5 for £11 which I thought was good value.
Look lovely on the windowsill. Replacing the trailing begonias.

Back home just before it started to rain.
Getting away from it all for a day really lifted out spirits.
Hope you are all keeping well.
Stay safe and keep smiling.
