A Day In The Life

Another sunny warm October day got us up and out this morning. We returned to the small apple orchard we visited a couple of weeks ago but their apple picking venue was closed for the season. Lucky for us their Apple Shack is open year around so after browsing maple syrup products and a large variety of bakery goodies we bought a bag of macoun apples and an apple tart to split for dessert tonight. Shhhh, don’t tell anyone, but I also bought a whoopie pie to freeze for a future weak moment ;) • On our way home we stopped to catch some views of nearby Maranacook Lake. What a delight it was to watch a gaggle of Canada geese swim along the shore. We also briefly chatted with a couple of adventurous women of similar age launching their kayaks for one last time of the year • A beautiful day with reminders that Fall is about bringing things to a close, to shutter and hunker down for that long winter’s nap. It’s only a reminder though, because there’s plenty more “falling” to enjoy.
