The Lozarithm Lens

River Avon, Chippenham (Friday 16th October 2020)

Having posted a swan blip on Sunday I couldn't put up another, so this is a landscape of the river, looking northwards, which might happen to have swans in it. I walked from there along the riverbank towards the town bridge, where swans and pigeons gathered by the pillars, confident of receiving fresh supplies of food from donors on the bridge (see Extra). I returned to Archie via the town centre with my purchases.

Jimmy Ruffin - I Gotta Let You Go (recorded 20 October 1964, Hitsville Studio A, Detroit MI)
I haven't left my Motown bubble and have been replaying This Is Northern Soul! The Motown Sound Vol.  1 CD1 and CD2. Motown lovers will know this song from Martha and the Vandellas' version, a single in 1970, but this is the original recorded version that remained unreleased until the earlier vinyl release of this compilation in 1998. It had been intended for the Temptations, but they did not record it. The Vandellas update used the very same backing track, by the Funk Brothers and the Andantes.
