Aethon ni allan gyda'r teulu i Warchodfa Natur Howardian.  Dydw i ddim wedi bod yna erioed o'r blaen, er mae'n rhaid ein bod ni wedi gyrru heibio lawer gwaith.  Mae'n ger cyfnewidfa fawr, lle mae A4232 yn ymuno ag yr A48- mae'r ddwy ffordd brysur yn pasio bob ochr i'r warchodfa natur. Mae'n swnllyd, ond mae'n werddon wyrdd hefyd. Ar yr un llaw, mae'n lle gwaethaf i roi gwarchodfa natur, ar y llaw arall rydyn ni angen gwarchodfeydd natur yn y lleoedd gwaethaf, lle mae natur o dan y pwysau mwyaf.

Dydyn ni ddim wedi gweld y teulu yn aml nawr oherwydd y firws felly roedd e'n amser prin a gwerthfawr. Roedd Sam a theulu wedi bod yna o'r blaen llawer gwaith ac roedd Sam yn hapus i ddangos popeth i ni - y coed, y pwll, y dôl, ... Roedd e'n dda i  weld ei ddiddordeb mewn natur, ac yn siarad â fe am goed a blodau. Mae e wedi bod yn dysgu am greaduriaid bach. Ffeindiodd côn pinwydd ar y lawr ac roedd e eisiau cadw fe, ond penderfynodd e i adael fe ar y lawr oherwydd roedd creaduriaid bach yn byw arno fe. Yn nes ymlaen fe ddaethon ni o hyd i un sych y gallai ei gadw.

Roedden ni wedi cael dwy awr hyfryd gyda'r teulu. Mae'n teimlo yn fwy werthfawr nawr gyda'r posibilrwydd o fwy o gyfyngiadau oherwydd y firws.

We went out with the family to the Howardian Nature Reserve. I have never been there before, although we must have driven past many times. It's near a major interchange, where the A4232 joins the A48 - both busy roads pass either side of the nature reserve. It's noisy, but it's a green oasis too. On the one hand, it is the worst place to put a nature reserve, on the other we need nature reserves in the worst places, where nature is under the most pressure.

We haven't seen the family often now because of the virus so it was a rare and precious time. Sam and family had been there many times before and Sam was happy to show us everything - the trees, the pond, the meadow, ... It was good to see his interest in nature, and talk to him about trees and flowers. He has been learning about small creatures. He found a pine cone on the floor and he wanted to keep it, but he decided to leave it on the floor because there were small creatures living on it. Later we found a dry one that he could keep.

We had a lovely two hours with the family. It feels more precious now with the possibility of more restrictions due to the virus.
