And again...

We were expecting cloud all day so it was lovely to wake to sunshine again. After a hushed breakfast....so odd to be in what feels like such an empty hotel...we headed over to Craobh Haven on what seemed to be a little road but turned out to be a rough track with huge potholes and it took ages as my car’s warning signals never shut up telling me that I was close to the hedges (why can’t you turn them off?!). Stunning views from the top of the hill, and then lovely to drop down to the harbour with all the yachts bobbing in the sunshine. We went on to Arduaine gardens, stopping for coffee and a chat to Dougal the hairy coo at the Loch Melfort hotel (gorgeous place...must come and stay here one time).
The gardens were full of colour (too many photos to choose from!) and we enjoyed a good wander around, talking about what S will do in her new garden when she moves.
We took a drive up to the Bridge over the Atlantic to see it again and remembered how much we’d enjoyed Seil and Easdale islands last time we were here. Lovely pub by the bridge that looked worth visiting in future (we found ourselves saying this quite a lot and have decided we need to start an annotated map of places we’ve been as well as others we should visit in future...spent a lot of this weekend either trying to remember dates we’d been here before or other places we’ve visited that we want to go back to and can’t remember where they are!).
Back to Craobh Haven for a huge plate of grilled langoustines for lunch....delicious!...then decided to nip up to Oban. Although it had turned cloudy on the drive by the time we got to Oban it was lovely again and we had a good wander around. T called from P’s house and I showed them both the views across the harbour which they were suitably impressed by.
Home to the hotel and we just had a starter for dinner and settled down to watch Strictly for the evening. Nonsense stuff but a good talking point as I knitted and we relaxed. Feels like we’ve been away a week!
