Are we there yet?

His story is in the second image.

It is by no means the most harrowing rescue story at the Monkey World and Ape Rescue centre in Dorset which we visited today. Many of their apes and monkeys endured the horrors of lab testing and living all their lives in 2 foot by 2 foot x 2 foot cages.

They have ended up at Monkey World having been rescued from all over the world as well as in the UK.

With two girls below the age of 5 we visit a lot of zoos and even the village where we live has one which is billed as a breeding zoo and to which we are season ticket holders and regularly visit.

I’m morally in two minds about zoos, but if an ongoing commitment to animal welfare is at the forefront of their agenda then, as with Monkey World, I do believe they deserve support.
