Stuff and Nonsense

Turnstone #84

This morning we decided to head further down the coast to Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre. Since hubby wanted us to be back for the fortnightly zoom meeting with his family, we took advantage of the extra hour and made an earlier start - not that early, but we arrived at 10am when it opened.
We did the circular walk and stopped at each of the 6 hides to see what was about. The birds were quite far away so not very conducive to good photography and despite to cold wind, it stayed dry and we had a nice time.
As it was still not too late we stopped off at Amble and had a quick walk along the coast towards Warkworth castle and down by the river Coquet which is where today’s blip was taken - lots of the usual waders around but nothing new today.
I hadn’t realised that I’d not blipped a turnstone yet despite them being very common here, and in the absence of the grey plover that I wanted to blip, here it is.
