Back in March I was helping Daughter replace the extractor fan in her bathroom. We got the new one going when it was off the ceiling but faced problems fitting it onto the ceiling so we undid some of our work. (Actually, for 'we' there, read 'I'.) Then lockdown happened. Today was the first day since then that I was allowed back into her flat. This time she did all the manual work while I told her what to do.

On a brief excursion to collect some self-drill plasterboard fixings, since the original ones had gone missing, I realised that my picture today would have to be a puddle or a ceiling fan. No contest.

By the time I left, fan whirring, it was dark.
