Late ‘Early’ walk!

It being half term we did the ladies early Thursday walk around St Ives at 8.00 pm!

Lots of good leaf colour and not too wet it was a good walk.

We fed the swans and ducks on Coppice Pond. A new juvenile
Swan has appeared, not sure what dad will make of that. It won’t  long before he’s seeing off the current brood! We will watch with interest!

Round the other side of the pond this female Goosander* was just sitting on a rock. Not that unusual you may think but we rarely see them anywhere but out in the centre of the water, too far away for a good shot. So blip sorted.
* Goosander/ Merganser.  I’ve always called these Mergansers but no doubt it is a Goosander though I see their scientific name is Mergus Merganser so I suppose both are correct?

In other news Eda has been for her first proper swimming lesson, she loved it and looks very grown up.

Raining heavily again now, hope we’re not swimming at Community singing this afternoon!
