Remembering

The morning was spent walking round the villages of Glinton and Peakirk, discussing possibilities for their Nature Recovery Plans and the organisation of a road verges and hedges project that I'm helping to co-ordinate. We arrived at the Memorial Cross in Peakirk just after 11, and observed the last part of the two minute silence with a small and socially distanced group of villagers.

On my way back to the car, which was parked in Glinton, I discovered a memorial bench next to the Church and thought the artwork was appropriate to mark today. While I have complicated and mixed feelings about Remembrance Sunday, I love the dove of Peace that's so prominent here, something we definitely need more of in the world.
