Be still my beating tart

Every office worker has become intimately acquainted with Microsoft Teams since Covid struck. To spice up discussions about funding proposals, I sometimes share links to good songs with work friends on Teams. Today a colleague reminded me of Ace of Base, so I played The Sign on repeat and it got me through some evening working on an overdue report.

As I left the office I had a real hankering for cherry bakewell vibes, so I scoured the shop unsuccessfully. It’s proving difficult to get hold of a Mr Kipling Bakewell Tart in this day and age.

It was a bright morning and as I opened the curtains blearily, this small tree with its autumn foliage stood out as a colourful start to the day.
