My topsy-turvy life

King of the castle

Louisa had an appointment for an MRI at the Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry this morning. Obviously with COVID restrictions we weren't allowed in with her so Owen and I took the opportunity for a trip to the wonderful, community-run Whittington Castle. We walked around the walls and up through the main gate, then into the ruins of the castle itself and up onto the viewing mount over what used to be the garden. It was good to see so many people using the takeaway options at the café.

Owen particularly enjoyed climbing over the walls and, after seeing some other children up there, wanted to get up to the window, behind him here. The problem was that it's about 5 feet up to where he's sat here so I had to lift him up, make sure he was safe, then get up there myself. Then it was doing it all in reverse to get down again. Worth it though.

I've just caught up on a handful of my own blips and I really need to catch up on other people's now.
