Winter has hit

Truly winter has hit today - theoretically a couple of days late. I could tell this not from the dusting on Calton Hill (blipped through the kitchen window) or the larger amounts of snow on the Pentland Hills that we could see in the distance, but from the fact that the path along the river was an absolute skating rink. No sign of gritting, of course....

Popped down to the Shore for a haircut. My hairdresser thinks there will be a proper lockdown in January. Who knows? Picked up some bits for Mr A on the way home. It turned out that he was making Cullen Skink and, guess what, that turned out really nice although it was made with smoked basia rather than smoked haddock (there being none of the latter in the supermarket).

Our maps arrived from the NLS. They are beautiful. Plans were made for where they are to go, but they need to be framed first (these are our Christmas present to ourselves).

And I spent an entire day crafting a paragraph. But it was premised on a lot of reading. Mr A seemed to have a bit of a giggle about it. I pointed out that it was a long paragraph, and it will probably be split into two paragraphs in due course.
