The mighty Ness

The River Ness is a short river which flows out of Loch Ness, a long loch. In the past I have walked the length of the river, about six or seven miles, I think. The Ness is  fairly shallow but very wide, and it cleaves the town of Inverness in half. Apart from canoes and rafts it is not really navigable. It was a salmon river, though whether it still is, I am not sure.
