Awoke completely uninspired this morning.

Usually I can think of a couple of things to do with the children that don’t involve excessive levels of screen time, but this morning I had nothing and sat at my desk staring out at a cold, wet morning desperately seeking some intervention (divine or otherwise) to inspire. None was forthcoming.

A side effect of the health kick and flexible working of the past few months has meant that unlike days of old, I don’t like being indoors for too long and start feeling a little antsy if cooped up for too long. Particularly when the wee ones are playing up and yet another game has disintegrated into a “play” fight.

Fortunately, m’boy promptly wandered in and asked if we could get the Lego out, which kept them busy for a time. The rest of the day passed in a haze of Arthur Christmas, painting, a frank and open conversation with The Eldest about her attitude (full Dadman mode engaged), skateboard lessons delivered to the wee ones in the rain from The Eldest and some homework.

Despite not having not done an awful lot, I’m absolutely drained. Sitting around not doing much is way more exhausting than getting out and doing stuff.

Nice to see The Eldest spending some time painting with The Youngest though...
