La vida de Annie

Arenal d'en Castell.

New State of Alarm day 67.
Last trip to the beach this year, although we didn't actually venture onto it as there were groups of maskless young people enjoying pre-new year festivities there. Maybe try again tomorrow when they're all indoors nursing hangovers/onset of covid-19.
Had a lovely Whatsapp chat with my dear reiki teacher in the UK (tier 4) who was having a bit of a wobble about it all, how people are not being safe in their behaviour, and whether to break the law and not send her vulnerable kids back to school when it reopens. I'm glad I don't have to make that decision anymore, but suffer the other issues here too. It seems as though people have just given up on acting responsibly, even though the number of positives is rising higher than at any time since March. Now that a vaccine is in sight it's being seen as something to wipe out this whole sorry mess, but I don't think it will be that simple. Maybe if everyone in the whole world could magically receive it simultaneously there would be a chance, but rolling it out is going to take a good part of 2021, there may be multiple further mutations, and there's a significant number of conspiracy-theorists, anti-maskers and anti-vaxers who are spouting their vile propaganda into the ears of anyone feeble-minded enough to believe it. There's no vaccine for Stupid.
Leaving the awful year on a lighter(?) note, I read on El Pais that the PM's father, Stanley Johnson, has applied for a French passport so that he can continue to enjoy the perks of being an EU citizen. You can't make it up. Happy new Brexit everyone!
