Hands off the ABC

What would we do without our public broadcaster? The ABC is a part of every day.

Just this morning we have watched the daily press conference on Covid numbers, hot spots and restrictions. We have also caught up with Trump’s latest attempts to subvert the Presidential election. Out walking this morning I have been informed, by ABC podcasts, about Aboriginal systems for using and managing fire; and why our national broadband network is more expensive and less effective that it should be; and the way pandemics have shaped our world. And that’s before we find a new drama series to entertain us tonight.

The ABC tends to rouse strong feelings. Both sides of politics, but especially the right, regard it as biased against them, which probably says it is doing its job. The insidious funding cuts continue though.

The Friends of the ABC are passionate in its defence. The t shirt was a Christmas present. Wearing it is one small gesture of support.
