A Day of Sunlight

The sun came up into a clear sky this morning and it was clear we must take a walk and let the sun shine on our faces. It was -6° C.  The roads and pavements were covered in a mix of hard ice and gravel, which isn't nice to walk on so we needed a walk away from roads but with a big sky. The beach was the answer! We drove to Smitingen beach, pausing to pick up Rose on the way.
This picture is taken at the end of the beach, where this stream runs across the beach in a tricky mix of water and ice as it meanders down to the sea. Rose is leaping here while Jan is further back along the beach, having paused to hunt for a blip.
As we walked I took a lot of pictures, and even after the usual sorting and elimination I had a dozen images left. A picture of some ice formations, splashed into existence above a small stream, was here as an extra, but now can be seen, with the others, on my flickr album of "A Sunny Day in January".
