Christmas, heading out the door

We'd seen on social media that a local community garden was looking for ex-Christmas trees for chipping, so George and I headed out to give them ours.

Although we could see where we were meant to leave it, it wasn't obvious where we should park. As we were driving round a bit aimlessly, a guy waved us down to ask if we were lost, so I explained the situation.

"Ah," he said. "See back there? There's a wee dirt road. Just drive along it and dump it in the field. It's getting dug up anyway."

After we'd thanked the fly-tipping sage and found a parking spot for the garden, George said, "er, I'm sure he thought he was being helpful, anyway."
