Locket

I found another kitten, to be company for Lizzy. I had visited a home in Bayford on the evening of October 5th, a sort of commune with loads of kids and guests and fifteen cats and kittens. They'd started with one, a female called Erik who had a farm cat mother, and now had a variety of litters of all breeds and colours. Only one of their two black kittens could be found and that was the one I took home. It escaped from its improvised basket within a mile of the journey back to Chesham but sat quietly on the passenger seat.
Lizzy hissed at her when I introduced the kitten but didn't attack her. She was stand-offish towards me for a couple of days, but then began to groom the kitten (now named Locket), even with both sitting on my lap.
I had soon discovered that she wasn't fully house-trained, and had fleas. I kept her indoors for the first four days and photographed her outdoors on the seventh, including here on the garage window ledge.

(Taken with a Pentax ME, on Konica SRV100 negative film, ISO 100, scanned rather streakily on a printer-copier-scanner from a Bonusfilm Express 6x4 print)
