Foul dog owners

Spotted this on our 3.5 mile walk back from West Hills and Pondicherry.

I’ve finished the last hat I’ll be making for a while as I’ve ordered wool and a pattern for a crochet throw. As I haven’t crocheted since I was a child it’ll be a steep learning curve so I’m putting my faith in YouTube.

I’m getting so bored with “Queenie” I’m thinking I’ll just give it up. It’s amusing but so much of the same thing. I have Ali Smith’s “Autumn” to read for book group and I know they’ll be more worthwhile. Though it’ll be tiring - I think she writes a bit like she speaks - fast and breathless and brainy.

The two lots of grandchildren WhatsApped each other this morning and included me in the chat. James wanted to show pictures of volcanoes with accompanying sound effects, Ella gave a tour of the lego house layout she’d made with random lego, Nathaniel showed his scale model lego and Thomas was quite quiet. Then James wanted to play minecraft and explain what he was doing while Nathaniel watched. Nathaniel is such an amiable boy - he’s not got minecraft but didn’t mind James gibbering on about it. It’ll be great when we can see them again.

Our neighbour is still in hospital. He still can’t walk. He’s had all sorts of body scans etc following on from the metal plate for the broken bones in his back. He might be transferred to James Cook in Middlesbrough which specialises in spinal problems. His wife says she will call on us if she needs us but for the moment is relying more on the younger couple on the other side.
