A Day In Maine

Yet another day Down East.  We drove to Boothbay Harbor this morning to bring some things there and to meet with our contractors to drop off wallpaper, paint samples, and lighting fixtures.  The crowded, cluttered little house on the cove has now been emptied of its horrifying conglomeration of fish-related souvenirs and creepy nautical tat, and now presents a blank canvas for better things to come.  This is a view of Mill Cove from the deck -- apparently a couple of weeks ago, a Pilot or Minke Whale showed up here and swam around in circles for a day or so before finding its way back out to open sea.  I would have loved to have seen that!

We also stopped by the Westport Island house which has also been emptied of its former owner's contents and is in the final stages of having its interior being given a fresh coat of paint.  It's looking so fresh and clean!  On the way back to Boston, we finalized our cabinet and counter order for that cottage, so it should be proudly sporting a new kitchen within the next month or so!  A very productive day all in all.
