Ramblings and Mutterings

V Day

The big day arrived!

I headed off this afternoon to my GP surgery to get my COVID-19 vaccine.  I thought it was going to be an individual slot but it appears it was for a block of people.  Despite it being very busy, everyone maintained social distancing and it was well organised.  The nurse asked me all the questions and then I was waiting for the doc to give me the jab, I started to get emotional at this time.  The past year has been so hard and for so long it felt like it was never going to end, but this vaccine gives us real hope.

The doc came and as I'd responded that my immune system was compromised, he had to investigate a bit further.  It was quite funny as he was the doctor that saw my decline after Kilimanjaro and remembered it, which was four years ago.  He said it's funny how he can remember stuff like but not his wife's birthday.  Lol!

So I'm now vaccinated with the Oxford vaccine, which also means I've got even more brain power now, which I know is hard to believe.  Lol!

Other than that a day on Teams.

Today I am thankful for:

1.  Receiving my first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine
2.  The scientists and volunteers that took part in the development of these vaccines
3.  The medical team at my GP's surgery for being very organised
4.  A doctor who remembered my story of why I was in the situation I was to need a vaccine
