Rooftop

Today we went on a rooftop tour of the Auckland War Memorial Museum (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auckland_War_Memorial_Museum).  It was a lovely sunny morning and the views were wonderful.  This is a view out across the Waitemata Harbour to Mount Victoria (Takarunga), North Head (Maungauika) and Rangitoto (all volcanoes) and the Museum itself sits on a dorman volcano.  Ships heading into the Port of Auckland come down the Rangitoto Channel and around North Head into the Waitemata Harbour.  Apparently it is not uncommon for them to use the Museum as a navigation aid.  The view from the Museum to the North is protected by legislation.
