Temperature this morning at 9am was -7C here; in the Cairngorms they registered -23C, which is something of a record in Scotland, we don't normally get such cold weather.  However, with the sun and the snow, it is beautiful, and doesn't feel nearly as cold as when we have a snell damp day with a wind.  Today's temperatures remind me of our time in Canada.

I did an ironing, and then was tempted to have half an hour out in the sunshine, and walked round our local football area, and thoroughly enjoyed the sun.

After lunch we went down to the loch, not as busy as normal, probably because it was very cold, but we met up with Maeve and Brian, and had a socially distanced chat; great to see them.

The loch was frozen over, but there were a few patches of clear water which the birds flocked to.  I enjoyed watching the swans and geese walking on ice though, they are not so elegant as when in the water.

My extra shots in the morning, the first on my walk in the neighbourhood, and the second of the robin in the garden, couldn't resist him!

Home for coffee and more fruit cake!
