Great Black-backed Gull - 23

Another rare trip out in the car as I went to see my mum so we could go on a short walk together. Afterwards I went down to Ince for a similar walk to last week except this time I found a route down to the Manchester Ship Canal. The track from Ince is very busy with tankers and tractors constantly passing and you have to go through a very large gate which is discouraging  and the last couple of hundred yards past the farm are very muddy but it is worth the effort as I think it is an interesting spot. In the distance I could see hundreds of pink-footed geese but this was my favourite shot of a great black-backed gull passing overhead.

Lands End to John O'Groats 1000 Mile Virtual Challenge Update

Day 8 -  Cornwall. 5 miles walked. 39.5 miles completed.
More country lanes and through the village of Burncoose to Frogpool where I popped in for a virtual pint at the Cornish Arms. The route continued over the railway at Perranwell Station and finished next to the Carnon River which was very handy for the Teeny Tiny Pancake Company, which serves pancakes from a restored horse box next to the river.
