Throwback Thursday

My cousin celebrated her 30th wedding anniversary by posting some photos of her party....whew!!  Brought back tons of memories!!

First of all, it was a 12 hour drive for us from home to Atlanta, Georgia.  We took my mother, and I drove most of the way while Al worked in the backseat.  That was the only way he could take the time away from his job....he brought it with him!

When we hit Atlanta, it was in the middle of an ice storm, and NO ONE knew how to drive in it!!  (Except us, of course, since in Michigan they're no big deal!)

The rehearsal dinner was in an authentic Chinese restaurant since the groom's family had lived in Hong Kong for many years, and really knew where to find good food.  This photo was taken after dinner, which was a palate-opening experience that we greatly enjoyed.

The ceremony was at Emory College, and was a Quaker ceremony, filled with love and happiness.  Anyone who wanted to stand and share their love for the couple was encouraged to do so, and it was such a beautiful day.

Al and I were in our mid-thirties, and a 24-hour drive to spend a day with loved ones seemed easy-peasy.  I'm so grateful we were part of their history!!

Extra is a photo of the bride and groom.  Still a beautiful couple 30 years on.
