wild & precious life

Healing places

So last night, after I had completed my day's blip, we settled down to watch The Windermere Children. It was an extremely unsettling, poignant and powerful true story that needed telling...& it has certainly stayed with me throughout today. As a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist specialising in trauma, it really made an impression and it was interesting to read further articles, which are currently available online, which highlighted how the children's paintings were sent off to Anna Freud and informed her theories and writings which have influenced child therapy as we practice it today. See link. (Also this one from the Guardian).
If you haven't seen it already, I would recommend watching it.

We had a lovely walk around beautiful Bolam lake today. It was warm and sunny and Spring was definitely in the air. Hubby then set to valeting my car as it is due a service this week and he said it was "embarrassing" to take it in in such a state!!!! :-) It's really not that bad, in my opinion!
