Home & Away

I’ve blipped these trees several other times. I always love them no matter what the season. I’ve not walked round these fields for awhile. Mostly because this can be a VERY muddy walk. The paths are starting to dry out a bit but still very much in need of wellies. I sat on my favourite log and watched the sun set, wishing I’d brought a flask of tea!

In other news:
It was the second day of the Cross Country skiing World Championships. (9 days total). You’re going to be sick of me talking about it, I’m sure. Today the ladies did a 15k race and the men 30k. Skiathlon today - half the race in classic style and the other half in freestyle/skating, with a ski change between the two. Always very exciting, especially when there is a big collision and fall (in the ladies). No one was hurt and the two ‘victims’ still came in first and second.

I had high hopes for Britain’s Andrew Musgrave. He was doing so well in the leading pack of 5-7, sometimes right at the front. But he tired in the last few kilometres, as others did also, and came in 7th. 30k is a very long race.

It was a gorgeous warm day!  Amazing for February. I spent the rest of the afternoon in the garden, doing a bit of gardening and then chatting with a friend on a video call. It’s wonderful to be able to spend so much time outside. Long may it continue. As soon as the sun went behind the fence it was time to head out for my walk and enjoy another hour or so before sunset. I saw the incredible ‘snow moon’ on the way home - low and large in the sky, and a beautiful orange colour. I’ve learned that an iPhone can never capture the moon so I stopped and just enjoyed it for a few minutes.
