Spotting the Old Spot.

This is a Gloucester Old Spot sow.
This is a rare breed and is here under conservation. There are only 300 male breeding boars remaining in the world. At this farm they are allowed to live natural lives in a large pasture and with no artificial food.

As I discovered this morning they are not easy to photograph. So intent are they at rooting around in the ground that they rarely lift their heads and their large ears hang down over their face. You can get a better view of the piglet in the extra.
