Up, up and away!

Monday
We left the house a little before noon, to get down to the airport, which is actually across the river in Kentucky. We arrived in plenty of time for our flight, and there wasn’t a long line to go through security, so we had time to get coffee and a sandwich while waiting for our flight, which was with Southwest Airlines, direct to Phoenix. Our flight was a bit late taking off, but since we didn’t have a connection, that didn’t really matter. There were a couple of patches of turbulence, and it was a little bumpy coming in to land, but overall a good flight. Our cases came through fairly quickly, then we took the shuttle to the car rental building, and picked up our rental car. We are spending the night in a hotel in downtown Phoenix, then continuing our journey to Tucson tomorrow, after visiting the Desert Botanical Garden in the morning. This evening we ate out at a very nice Tex Mex Restaurant.
I made a collage of some of the aerial views from the plane, the top two taking off from Cincinnati, and soon after, and the bottom three over the western states, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona.
