Outdoors

I was at work for quite a long day. Longer than I meant to be. Just a lunch break, but didn't get out really. Just the walk up the garden path!

After work I cycled up to the chickens. Collected the eggs, gave them some corn and emptied my compost bin. Then realised I had forgotten my egg box, so had to cycle back with the eggs rolling about in the empty compost bin. Every tiny bump on the road was sending the eggs bouncing into each other, but they survived.

I noticed some of my tomato seeds are coming up, plus some courgettes and spindly cauliflower, not so good. When I got back from the allotment I went to check out my baby gunnera. I planted it by the stream last year. It is starting to come up. I hope it grows huge! Ralph came to see what I was up to, even venturing down to the edge of the stream

A nice prawn curry for tea, cooked in the slow cooker. This evening we have been watching bits on TV, that by coincidence have both been set in beautiful Scotland. ( Ben Fogle) It makes us want to go back. It really makes us think how beautiful a place it would be to live, but we are attracted by the most remote places. I think perhaps we are a bit old for that kind of change now. We had always dreamt of a smallholding when we first got married. We have had to move quite a lot, but was our last move the final one? I wonder.

Might just google property for sale in Scotland....
