Female adder

Easter Sunday was a lovely bright day so we went to Whixall Moss for the afternoon. We were thrilled to see this beautiful female adder taking advantage of the warmth and was pleased to get chance for photos before she disappeared.

We saw a Great Raft Spider which is an extra.  It sits on pond plants with feet in the water to feel vibrations of prey.

The other extra is a male reed bunting.  The female was with him but had her back to me.  We also saw brimstone butterflies and a curlew.
