Spring Flowers

Having followed the succession of spring flower photographs published by my sister and BiL this week, I made a last minute decision to head to the nearest garden likely to have flowers in bloom this afternoon, West Green House Garden, a private garden supported by the National Trust.  They have their own booking system and I was able to book a slot for entry within the hour. Although the massed daffodil planting was nearly over, and the tulips, for which the garden is renown, were mainly still in bud there was still plenty of colour and blooms around.  This little group of hyacinth and wood anemone was discovered in the small "woodland walk".

I had done the main shop in the morning, and had come home to hear the sad news about HRH Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh. However, by all reports he led a rich and purposeful life, not least as a constant support as consort to the Queen, and my thoughts go out to her and her family at this sad time.
