Snowdon from Llyn Padarn

It’s a short visit to Llanberis today. Thursday is the day we visit G’s mum - 91 and living independently within a sheltered complex - and take her for a short drive in the locality.  It’s our second visit here - the lakeside settlement set in Snowdon’s shadow, home of the famous mountain railway.

We’re hunting for a particular photogenic site which yet again eludes us, but the views across Llyn Padarn certainly compensate. Almost cloudless skies, crystal clear waters, and Snowdon itself crowned with a dusting of unseasonable snow. We’re even graced with the presence of three nearly fully grown cygnets, their feathers still tinged with juvenile brown.
