The Glory of the Morning

Another glorious morning, and our very welcome mug of tea. Or two, while we get going, feeding the birds, reading our Bibles, praying, making porridge, kefir, coffee...

Once, several years ago, on a family holiday in the Alentejo, we visited the ruin of a Roman villa (and almost got sunstroke), where the lady who showed us round waxed lyrical about the "explosão de cores" that happened in the Springtime. Well, this year is the best we've seen yet. Expanses of white and yellow, purple and yellow, lilac thistles and deep purple lavender, yellow and red... but on the way to Reguengos to shop today, saw the normal purple with red poppies - Mike kindly turned round so I could get a photo through the car window, no good place to stop - but gives you an idea (extra).

Gratefuls:
- beauty, beauty everywhere
- chatting with my girls, heck I want to see them - and the rest of the family as well, of course!
- sitting in the sunshine, shelling broad beans from Maria's land
