Grey and wet

Our plans for starting cycling the Twin Coast Cycle Trail were thrown into disarray yesterday (Tuesday) as it was pouring with rain when we woke and there was a severe weather warning in place.  So, onto Plan B.  We managed to get a room at the Horeke Hotel and move our booking in Kaikohe to to the following night.  We spent the day reading and playing silly games on our iPads, but also drove to Rawene further down the Hokianga Harbour to have lunch and a quick look around the craft shops.  All in all, not as bad a day as was predicted. The photo is of the Boatshed Cafe in Rawene, which is not where we lunched.  We ate at the New Era Cafe, which was situated in a gallery and bookshop, so we spent a pleasant half hour browsing the exhibits after lunch.
