Where the Light Gets In

1984:
illustrated translation
with novel wording

This is the present I got from my sister and family on my 45th birthday, this Sunday. It is a graphic adaptation of Orwell's novel, in the new translation that was done by renowned translater Josée Kamoun. I remember, at the time it came out (the new translation, I mean), that it was somewhat criticised for some of its choices. For example, she chose to translate "newspeak" into "néoparler", which is absolutely correct, but which clashed with people's habit of knowing it as "novlangue". I'll enjoy reading it in this new form!
