Many Rivers To Cross

This is the first day for non-essential shops to reopen, I visited Wex Photographic to purchase a new tripod. After some research I had decided to buy a Manfrotto model, however, they refused to sell me the tripod as they only had a demo in stock and suggested I buy online. Tried to negotiate a discount to take off their hands and they could order new stock. They wouldn't budge so I ordered online today, but not with Wex.

Finally finished "The Laidlaw Trilogy" by William McIlvanney (extra). Listened to a lot of The Sensational Alex Harvey Band this week, last saw them live in the 1975 Christmas Shows at the Glasgow Apollo, gone but not forgotten.

In other news, former Post Office boss Paula Vennells has quit boardroom positions at retailers Morrison's and Dunelm as well as her role as a Church Of England Minister, the wagons are circling.

And in the end, as we are in Oscar season, in 1971 The Beatles won the award for best music, original song score for "Let It Be". They were up against the soundtracks to The Baby Maker, A Boy Named Charlie Brown, Darling Lili and Scrooge.
