Life in Newburgh on Ythan

Rock climbing

The first heavy rain in months and the garden snails are immediately out in force!

It is said that plants can be protected from snails by surrounding them with sharp grit. This individual crawling up our conservatory wall which is harled in sharp Skye marble chipping thinks otherwise! Our snails (and slugs) also crawl in gay abandon across the copper bands that are meant to stop them in their tracks!

Extra. Meanwhile, down at the village Hotel, which is being renovated, the humans and their machines are also enjoying some rock climbing.
