The Day After

Result

I spent the afternoon on Twitter watching the election results roll in. I waited 4 hours for ours, until 6pm. It was worth the wait. A success. A comfortable win with a slightly increased majority.

Job done. Another 5 years. I doubt if I will be there for all of them. Maybe 2 at the most. We’ll see. If he would let me cut back to 2 days a week, or even 3 days, that would extend my shelf life.

Plan B is to go somewhere nice and claim political asylum.

The full results nationally will not come through until tomorrow. I am back in the Office tomorrow. Business as usual, instead of shredding and deleting the evidence files.

I am definitely pleased for the Boss. He works really hard for the people he represents. I am also excited for the Manager who had to double up as his campaign manager. The team worked well. The rest of us just kept the Office moving along as best we could over the last 3-4 months, to let them get on with it.

For me, I am glad it is over one way or another.

I could relax over a glass of wine in the evening, with a nice video on U-tube about how to bleed radiators.

In the morning I found myself in Burntisland, without really knowing why or how. Then I found myself outside the bakery… I don’t know how it happened. I was not disappointed. Sometimes you just have to go with the flow and follow your instincts.
