Saturday morning football
What better way to start Saturday? We did this for so many years when the boys were young, ferrying them round to different venues and standing pitch or trackside to cheer them on. We had many a serious soaking then even in Summer. We did the Tesco run for papers and some essentials and arrived at the football for a 9 a.m. kick off. We managed to nab a parking spot with a view of the pitch so there was a dry refuge if we needed it. Hubby had his huge golf umbrella so we braved the conditions and sheltered under it. This was Maddie's initiation into an already very skilled team. She played really well and really enjoyed it. The girls played a team of boys a year younger and their attitude was exemplary. I took some photos outside the perimeter fence and I liked the way the raindrops were in focus showing how wet it was and the lack of focus on the players gave them anonymity. Maddie is on the right in her blue football boots. They were all dripping wet when the game finished. We went back to their house afterwards and caught up with Louie who was full of beans. He will be able to start playing when he is 3. He can't wait.
